Allan John

Allan John brings a wealth of corporate knowledge across branding, online marketing and social media promotions coupled with a sincerity and warmth rarely found in business circles.

His interpersonal skills allow him to transfer easily into the field of public relations with clear and concise communication giving him the ability to quickly put people at ease.

Moving away from the corporate side of his life, Allan is extremely passionate and dedicated to his music being well known within the DJ scene of Brisbane. He also enjoys graphic design, video production & editing, as well as being true creative.

He has always wanted to utilise his skills and knowledge to create content that educates and inspires people to raise awareness of key social issues in society, with a hope of creating a better tomorrow for everyone.

One of his social awareness projects was a short film titled ‘Break Free’ which was awarded 1st place in an international short film competition on You Tube in 2015. The film was written and directed by Allan and addresses the all too common problem of ‘Sexual Harassment in the Workplace’ and how people can get out of it. The feedback received suggested he was able to successfully give hope and inspiration to the many that were fortunate enough to see it.

One such viewer felt compelled enough to let Allan know exactly just how much he enjoyed the short film;

“I just watched your winning film once again, enjoying many details of creativity and excellence. Your approach to the Woman of Merit Challenge had a very creative approach both in story telling & screenplay using poetry & art.” Dan Enger, Executive Director, Global Dialogues, USA

Working on social causes and issues where he can give back to society has been ingrained into Allan by his parents from a very early age. He has many interesting stories from his childhood on how he participated in fundraising activities such as distributing lucky draw coupons for aged care, selling cookies for underprivileged kids, running competitions for mental illness programs and other worthy causes.

Allan’s life has also been tinged with the sadness of losing a young family friend who was treated for blood cancer only a few years ago. This loss has seen him want to contribute in some way to raising cancer awareness (especially towards the younger generations) and that’s when his journey brought him to Prerna.

They have worked together on numerous cancer campaigns with one flowing into another. Allan is proud to be a core team member of ‘SIMPLY HUMAN – Superheroes Without Capes’ in the hope of kicking cancer’s butt once and for all.

He tells us his blood group is B+ and that he can’t help it!

His overall outlook on life cannot help but inspire and motivate others to contribute positively to raising awareness of this most noble and yet heartbreaking of causes.
