How we help?

Options are currently limited for bone marrow transplants with few choices available in regards to where to source a suitable donor from. At the moment, if a person from Nepal, India, Afghanistan, Thailand, Vietnam, (or any other country from a South Asian or South East Asian ethnic background) was to require a donor match, he or she would need to access the Indian registry or pay a large sum of money to access the U.S. registry which may or not have a suitable match.

In a world with over 8 billion people such things should not be made so difficult when people are fighting for their lives.

One thing which we are also very passionate is about is the sharing of experiences. It can be difficult to feel or stay connected as a person when facing something of this magnitude with it being easy to coil into a shell. We have online groups and social platforms to allow interaction and the sharing of experiences, good or bad, to encourage and help motivate others.

One of our core missions is to educate and empower our youth to make better life choices to stay happy and healthy. Whether this is through diet, exercise or overall health and well-being, we are taking a panoramic view to long-term happiness.

We also organise coffee mornings to allow people to talk about chemotherapy, health care, how they felt at different stages and general advice to support others through their journey. We are striving to become the bridge between cancer patients and numerous avenues of support which will hopefully lead to us supporting the network.

One such community link we have is the Leukaemia Foundation (http://www.leukaemia.org.au/ ) so we may assist their incredible work they do by in some small way growing the donor registry through our own awareness development programs.

In our efforts, we are also joined by Yoddhas (https://www.yoddhas.com/ ). This is a UNESCO award winning Non Government Organisation (NGO). (http://en.unesco.org/ )

The founder of this NGO, Mr. Rahul Yadav, offered incredible support and was our guiding light during the ‘Help Ujwal’ campaign showing himself once again to an inspirational human being.

Not only is he himself a cancer survivor having gone through two bone marrow transplants, but it was he who advised us of the best hospital and panel of doctors for Ujwal’s Bone marrow transplant.
